LOGO WORK
Fiskateers
The Fiskateers are best described as Fiskars® craft ambassadors. As engaged members of the crafting community, they share crafting projects and ideas, primarily online, while also promoting Fiskars products. Inspiration for the icon comes from one of Fiskars best known products, the orange handled scissors. Each new member of the Fiskateers are gifted with their own pair of scissors engraved with their Fiskateer number, and unique to the community because of it's green thumb. Additionally, the logo script is handwritten, staying true to the Fiskateers crafty, original, and DIY ways.
Meta House
Meta House is an addiction recovery home for women and their families. They wanted to update their logo to better associate themselves with their sister location, Shorewood House. Original exploration focused primarily on adopting the colors from the Shorewood House logo. However, partway through the design process, Meta House asked us if it was possible to include the sun beams on the new logo, making the connection between the two undeniable.
Blessing Health System
Open to a complete change in color and style, Blessing wanted a makeover that would connect them to their surrounding community. The logo also needed functionality, so concepts include a primary, horizontal and departmental logo lockup. The first family has an organic, yet purposeful shape that forms both a heart and the letter B. The “B” is reference to Blessing, and the abstract heart is a symbol of true human connection, a person’s heart and soul. Colors depart from traditional healthcare blue, and represent the landscape of the region Blessing serves in Quincy, IL. The second logo family has a symmetrical form built from hearts, representing stability as well as the idea of connection and harmony. Bright colors form the full spectrum, representing many services coming together for the health of the community. All caps serif type adds strength to this otherwise very friendly mark.
Broadscope Events
These logos were developed for a set of events put on by Broadscope Disability Services. They wanted to update existing logos so that colors and overall appearance were more in line with the Broadscope brand. All logos pictured here are mine, but the client was provided with a larger set from myself and another designer. My design for the Millercoors Charlie Kapp Charity Golf Challenge was selected and is the current logo for this event.
University of Wisconsin Project
This quick design challenge was to develop a bicycle icon and use it to create cohesive signage for Madison bike trails, all within the 2.5 hour class period.
